Dear Parents and Carers,
From September 2022 we propose to change the structure of the school day.
As we end this Term, we continue to make changes as part of our improvement journey. This includes plans to change the school day starting from September. The reconfiguration of the school day will enable us to maximise time and resources so that our children can get the best possible opportunities to thrive.
The rationale is to simplify the structure of the school day and this change also reflects ambitions set in the White Paper published by the government in March.
This change allows up to have:
- a longer lunch that will allow lunch time clubs and activities for all students
- use of the full school site and facilities at lunch times
- better timings for break and lunch so students do not have to wait too long to eat
- the same start time as the current school day
- a slightly later finish
Current timings and split lunches and breaks do not allow for staff or students to do a full range of lunch activities or allow for school site or facilities to be used as they as are needed for lessons.
Below is the planned school day from September
